TheraBreath is a brand of oral care products headquartered in Los Angeles, California. The company's products treat issues related to halitosis. The company is known as The Breath Co. in the United Kingdom.
The Challenge
The founder and creator of The Breath Co., Dr Harold Katz is a well known 'Bad Breath Guru' and 'America's Leading Halitosis' expert, a fully qualified dental expert who's also a press sensation! Dr. Katz has appeared on Loose Women and This Morning in the UK armed with his “halimeter”, in which he asks his guests to eat an onion live, swish their mouth with his mouthwash and then use the halimeter to test how fresh their breath is afterwards.
Our challenge was to harness Dr. Katz's popularity and charisma in a series of entertaining and educational videos to promote the Breath Co. mouthwash and ensure that consumers were both entertained and the high price point of the product was justified.

The Solution
Our videos, two hero videos and a series of supporting educational content - that was still super fun - focused on demonstrating the power of The Breath Co. Mouth Wash in a fun, visually striking way. We used 'kissing' as our vehicle to road test the powers of the product as our couples eat a variety of pungent foods, including raw onions, pickled eggs and garlic noodles - yum!
We adopted a Takeshi's Castle style of filming with crash zooms, bold colours, attention grabbing graphics and Dr. Katz as our enigmatic host. Dr Katz sets the scene as our couples munch through their bad breath inducing meals and then challenges them to 'KISS!'. As expected, first time round their bad breath results in no one wanting to kiss, but after a good swill of Dr. Katz's miracle mouth wash the couples can't keep their hands of each other and 'Kissing with Confidence'!
